Collaborative Autistic Research Empowerment (CARE): Building a Community Panel for Inclusive and Impactful Research Partnerships.

Funded by a PPI Ignite Network @ University of Galway Seed Funding 2023/24 [www.ppinetwork.ie] grant, ICAN researchers have established a panel of autistic experts by experience. This ICAN PPI group meets several times a year to advise on the research agenda and to co-produce research content and processes. Panelists have received research and PPI training and renumeration to attend the meetings. All Panelists positively benefitted from their involvement, reporting feelings of empowerment and increased confidence. Researchers felt empowered through receiving endorsement about their research decisions-making.  Funded received from PPI Ignite Network @ University of Galway Seed Funding 2023/24.
